We’re Proud to be Members of the CDJA

It means we’re among the top professionals in the mobile DJ business.
The Canadian Disc Jockey Association is the longest running DJ trade association in the world, established in 1976 as an advocate for both DJs and consumers of DJ services. You can trust that any DJ displaying the CDJA logo adheres to professional standards, many of them simple things that you should expect a pro to have.
So, what does it all mean?
First of all – it means that we have supported the music we play at events. Being a member of the CDJA requires you to purchase a licence from the Audio Visual Licencing Association (AVLA). The AVLA’s mandate is to ensure that all DJ’s have legally acquired music collections, and has strict stipulations on how we may handle our music. There’s a whole lot to it, but the long and the short of it is that we have obtained our music through ethical methods, not from Limewire, The Pirate Bay, or some other shady operation. We directly support the music we play.
It also means that we have insurance. Yup – just like you need insurance for your car, DJ’s need insurance too. Any number of unforeseen things can happen when you mix music, fun, and people. Insurance means that we take your fun seriously – and if the fun suddenly isn’t, you’re covered! We carry $2 Million in liability insurance.
There’s a ton of other requirements to be a part of the CDJA, like using contracts and having a properly registered business. I don’t intend to bore you to death with the nitty gritty details. The point is – when you see the CDJA logo, you can trust you’re working with a pro!
